As in so many other areas our world has gone pretty crazy when it comes to exercising. Even yoga has changed from a meditative practice to a power sport. The Western mind is extremely focused on physical, frantic exertion.
There are however a number of practices that bring mind, body & soul in harmony.
QiGong is based on an ancient Chinese system, which harmonizes the energy with the physical and brings power, strength and balance through connection.
My own personal favorite is something called the Five Tibetans, or Five Tibetan Rites.
With just five simple exercises the whole body energy is being activated and brought into flow again. Within a few days core strength increases along with emotional stability and general well-being.
You start with three repetitions and increase by 2 every week until you get to 21.
There are a number of other options, something for every taste, ability and preference. If you prefer not to go to a class and do your practice in a group you can buy DVDs, downloads or watch for free on YouTube or other social media platforms.
